WILLS AND ESTATES

Do you know the importance of having a Will?  Do you know what changes in life circumstance warrant a review of your current Estate Plan?  We have noted in our discussions with clients that many people are unaware of these points.  At this Wills & Estate seminar, we will help you understand why you should bother with an Estate Plan and when you should update your Will, Power of Attorney and Personal Directive.  We will also discuss what happens if you don’t prepare your Estate Plan, the probate process and estate litigation issues.  Don’t miss the opportunity to decide what will happen to your assets.

About the Speaker:

Amanda, a Newfoundland native, received her Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op) degree (2001) and Bachelor of Laws degree (2004) from Dalhousie University.  While at Dalhousie, she completed academic exchange terms in Sweden and Australia.  She articled with Patterson Law (formerly Patterson Palmer) in Truro and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in September 2005.

Amanda is an Associate on our Residential Real Estate Team and is a frequent presenter at first-time home buying seminars.  She also practices in Wills, Estates, & Trusts and has given numerous lectures for federal and provincial government employees and military members on estate planning.

Amanda has appeared before the Nova Scotia Police Review Board, the Small Claims Court and the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, including the Family Division.

In her spare time, Amanda enjoys traveling and volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters.  She also enjoys hiking, kayaking, cycling, playing soccer and squash and recently completed her first marathon.
