Member Services Events
Business After Hours
Business After Hours events provide an opportunity for members to host a Chamber networking event at their office, or at an off-site location should their venue not accommodate this style of event. As the host you will have the spotlight at the event and be in charge of logistics. The Chamber will provide the marketing and registration services, and your fellow members and their guests will provide the buzz. This is a great opportunity to use the Chamber's marketing power to drive traffic to your location.
Networking @ Noon
Networking @ Noon events are what we refer to as facilitated networking. They are also a great way for non-networkers to meet other people in a non-threatening, content rich encounter. Participants become part of a discussion table of no more than eight people including a facilitator. This is a great chance to get to know seven people better than at a typical networking event. Topics are determined by the table and can be about anything from food to war - just no small talk!
Continuing Education
The Halifax Chamber of Commerce’s Continuing Education program consists of a series of professional development sessions taught by our members for our members. Participants can gain real world experience from leaders in the field on topics ranging from leadership to marketing for small business and more.
As a presenter participating in the Chamber’s Continuing Education line-up you have the opportunity to take part in the programming and contribute to the business community’s continued learning.
Member to Member (M2M)
The Halifax Chamber of Commerce's Member-to-Member (M2M) events provide an opportunity for a member organization to present valuable information on non–commercial topics of interest to other Chamber members. As a presenter, this is your chance to share your expertise and promote your business, network, and establish new relationships with your audience. The Chamber will provide the event marketing, registration services and the use of our multi-purpose boardroom.
New Member Night
The Halifax Chamber of Commerce New Member Night is an opportunity for new members to be introduced to the Chamber, its staff and, most importantly, each other. Our goal is to provide a relaxing and inviting atmosphere in which new members can network and learn more about their membership.
Chamber Golf
The Chamber has started a golf club. Not a real golf club, but a virtual one. Golf is the official sport of business and one of the best ways to build relationships, have fun and contribute to a healthy lifestyle. All these advance the goals and values of the Chamber and thus it is only right that we play more golf! Chamber Golf will offer members special deals at member courses, a foursome matching service, and a golf publication. The capstone of this season-long event is our own championship, the annual Chamber Challenge Golf Tournament.
Conferences, Debates, Roundtables and Task Forces
On an occasional basis the Chamber presents and produces a number of information gathering and disseminating events on topics ranging from downtown development to education to home and micro business issues to education. The format matches the objective of the session but all events invite the participation of members and encourage attendance.
