MISSION

The role of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce in achieving its vision is to build and strengthen the business culture through:

  • Member Services- Adding Value through Networking, Information and Member Benefits
  • Advocacy - The Voice of Business
  • Leadership - Shaping the Business Environment

WHAT WE DO

WORKING FOR YOU - The Chamber is Halifax’s oldest advocacy organization and acts as the voice of business on topics such as taxation, health in the workplace, and regional planning. The Chamber communicates with all three levels of government with clarity and a respected depth of knowledge. Volunteering with a Chamber committee or task force is a great way to make new business contacts, be part of facilitating change in our city, and investing in the growth of our region.

EVENTS - The Chamber provides some of the best networking opportunities, facilitating over 100 events annually. Make individual business connections, promote your business and gain new business knowledge through Chamber events. Signature events include the Spring and Fall Dinners, the Halifax Business Awards and the Chamber Golf Challenge.

BENEFITS - As a member you can gain access to many benefit programs that save you and your company money. Many of the benefits allow small and medium-sized businesses access to programs otherwise unavailable to them due to their size. Extended benefits include opportunities to promote exclusive discounts of other members through the Member-2-Member (M2M) Marketplace and a wide range of advertising and sponsorship opportunities.

Membership offers exclusive access to the Business Help Center and all resources provided through the All Ships Rise initiative. Benefits such as mentoring, business advice and potential opportunities for government funding are among the many available resources.

PUBLICATIONS - The Chamber’s flagship publication, Business Voice magazine, is published 10 times a year for Chamber Members and the Halifax business community. The specialty publications that compliment Business Voice are Outlook and the All Ships Rise magazines. These publications are the main communication vehicle for members containing information and updates on all areas of the Chamber’s work.
