Municipal Government Affairs


The Municipal Government Affairs Committee is mandated to develop Chamber policy on a broad range of matters relating to Halifax Regional Municipality including budgets, operational and organizational effectiveness, fiscal policy and growth strategies.

The Municipal Affairs Committee is also tasked to develop and maintain relationships with key decision makers within the city's structure and to communicate Chamber policy to those decision makers and to the Chamber membership.

The Committee completes its work through an annual pre-budget submission and an annual issues note, both of which are submitteed to Regional Council. In addition, the Committee produces a Municipal Budget Report Card.
