Halifax Chamber of Commerce recognizes risk takers and trailblazers at the 2009 Halifax Business Awards

Halifax, NS – January 29, 2009 – The World Trade and Convention Centre was the place to be tonight for local businesses as the Halifax Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of the 2009 Halifax Business Awards to a capacity crowd.

“The Halifax Business Awards is our opportunity to celebrate the success of our business community,” says Chamber president Valerie Payn. “This is the only awards show in the city that recognizes all types and sizes of business, celebrating the drive, passion and will to succeed that characterizes business in Halifax.”

“It is inspiring to look at this group of winners, to see their optimism, their confidence, their resilience, and share in their successes,” adds Payn.

The Halifax Business Awards are intended to recognize those businesses and business people in Halifax who exemplify the best that our city has to offer: innovators, who are willing to take chances, push the boundaries and stretch the limits for success.

The annual event, now in its ninth year, featured Gold, Silver and Bronze winners in four categories: New Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Business of the Year and Business Person of the Year.
