New employee orientation gives management the chance to develop a positive relationship between your new hire and your organization. It fuels employee enthusiasm and can lead to long term positive relationships.

Socialization is more involved than just introducing a new employee to the rest of the staff. Including the new employee in lunches, coffee breaks/conversation are important in making a new employee feel welcomed. This helps with office morale which ties into motivation and engagement.
